The Total Solution Engineer.

I joined Asetek because of the opportunity to be at the forefront of thermal management and to be a part of developing technologies that will enable faster and quieter computers right now and well into the future.

Prior to joining Asetek, I was a electronics cooling consultant, and prior to that was a doctoral student researching heat and mass transfer in fuel cell’s and multi-phase systems.

At Asetek, I have been able to utilize my past experience by being a part of a leading edge research as well as with assisting costumers with their system’s level thermal management.

On top of being able to utilize my past experience, I have been able to build my career by learning about business strategy, product development, manufacturing as well as be in close and frequent contact with the world’s leading computer manufacturers.

I am extremely happy to be on the Asetek team and am excited to solve the future challenges and opportunities in thermal management.

The Thermal Engineer.

I joined the Asetek Team right after graduating from Aalborg University, where I took a Masters of Science within Fluids and Combustion Engineering - my thesis was titled CFD Simulation of Steam Reformer and had a lot of CFD related work incorporated – some of it “heavier” than other.

Optimization of a steam reforming unit is very much about enhancing the heat transfer to the steam reforming process, and I have been able to adapt this knowledge directly to my work here at Asetek, since electronics cooling is very much about optimizing the heat transfer.

As a thermal engineer, my main focus is thermal optimization of our products, but I am also responsible for reliability testing of our products.

Even though I have been able to use much of my previous knowledge in my work here, I have learned a lot since I started, which makes my job here very interesting.

I have been talking to my fellow students about the challenges and variety in their jobs and my job has, without a doubt, the highest levels in both categories. It is therefore not coincidental that I feel that I have a very varying, challenging and exciting job.

I am looking forward to the next challenges and to meet new colleagues in this rapidly growing company.

Our business

Asetek wants to be the provider of choice within thermal management of computer systems.

The trend is that performance demands continuously increase while noise requirements and form factors continuously decrease. Historically, computer manufacturers have directed their optimization efforts to other component types, and have primarily concentrated on traditional fan based cooling. This is where Asetek arrives at the scene. We have set the framework within which leading scientists develop and design innovative cooling technologies that are ready for mass market implementation.

Asetek works with both very large manufacturers of retail level computers as well as with facilitators of very large server-systems. Also, we work with middle sized system integrators who source our standard systems and build them into existing platforms.
