WaterChill Micro
NEW OEM LIQUID COOLING
FROM ASETEK A/S

The vision of a viable Digital Home or Small Form Factor PC solution relies - unconditionally - on the ability to offer high system performance at very low noise levels. The WaterChill™ Micro OEM liquid cooling from asetek A/S (DK) enables exactly this vision. Find it displayed at CeBIT in Hall 22, stand C20.

Broenderslev, Denmark - March 9th, 2006. Despite the arrival of multi-core CPUs with lower overall power consumption, system level thermal management faces increasing noise challenges. Consumers are displaying clear preferences for diversified and, especially, smaller form factors why the future use of traditional heatsink and heatpipe coolers will be possible only with significant trade offs on either noise or performance.

With leading industry players investing heavily in new and more compact PC platforms the system integrators in the Digital Home, SFF and high end gaming markets will soon face the decision to either compromise on customer value or prepare for a shift in applied CPU/GPU/Chipset cooling technology - a shift to liquid cooling.

At asetek's CeBIT stand (Hall 22, stand C20) the WaterChill Micro™ liquid cooling solution is on display in several Digital Home, Small Form Factor and high-end gaming machines. Live demonstrations include a micro ATX Digital Home system noise reduced from 43 dBA (equal to quiet office / office ambient) to 27 dBA (equal to Library or Soft whisper / home ambient).

"The WaterChill™ Micro is an ultra compact, self-contained, highly reliable, and integrated liquid cooling solution, which offers very high performance at really low noise levels", states Martin Schousboe, VP of Sales at asetek. "Almost 3 years in the making we can now present a superior technology platform that requires no service after an easy instalment. Also important for OEM customers our solution offers high form factor flexibility and cost efficiency".

Founder and CEO Mr. André Sloth Eriksen has firm confidence in asetek's ability to spearhead the OEM market's transition to liquid cooled platforms: "Correctly manufactured, tested and validated the use of liquid cooling in various PC platforms is no more dramatic than when the car industry turned to liquid to cool the engine block of cars. We have firsthand knowledge of the quality, reliability and lifetime expectations in the computer OEM market and there is not a shadow of doubt that we can meet these expectations with the WaterChill Micro solutions".

Asetek is already working on WaterChill Micro pilot projects with world leading component and systems manufactures. CeBIT will be used to identify and organize further pilot projects with progressive systems integrators in the Digital Home, SFF and High end gaming market.
