Cold Plates

Asetek Coldplate

Asetek's team of engineers has spent years researching and testing cold plate designs for our integrated pump and cold plate assembly. Asetek has the experience and know how to determine the right specifications of the cold plate to meet our customer's requirements for 1) Performance and 2) Cost.

Performance

Our latest cold plate features microchannels that are more efficient than our original pin fin design. By having more surface area than pin fins, the microchannels are able to transfer heat from the CPU to the liquid more efficiently.  A key aspect of this improvement is that it was achieved without increasing pump noise or compromising reliability.

Design

CPUs have very specific heat characteristics. Asetek's years of expertise helps us to determine the best cold plate design to effectively cool today's CPUs. In addition, Asetek knows that CPU technology changes and we are constantly innovating. By understanding the road maps of AMD, Intel and NVIDIA Asetek is able to focus engineering efforts on creating the best cooling solution for each generation of CPUs and GPUs.

Cost

Part of our mission statement is to "provide our customers with the best, most cost effective solutions". The increase in performance from the multichannel cold plate was so substantial that Asetek is now able to offer a lower cost aluminum cold plate that performs better than the old copper pin fin design. Aluminum cold plates enable lower cost liquid coolers while maintaining impressive performance.
