When Asetek introduced its first sealed CPU liquid cooler, it was necessary to find a tubing material that would eliminate the need for big reservoirs and refilling. This was achieved by molding low permeability, corrugated tubes out of FEP plastic. These FEP tubes are more rigid than the "aquarium" tubes often used in kit built liquid coolers. While customers appreciated the 50,000 hour life provided by FEP, they continued to remind us of the difficulty of installing our coolers with these rigid tubes.
In response to this feedback, Asetek undertook an 18 month engineering project to develop a rubber material that achieves the same durability and longevity of the plastic tubing. This project included extensive evaluation of different materials under prolonged and strenuous conditions to get the right balance of flexibility, durability and reliability.

In addition to maintaining the reliability of the original plastic tubes, the new rubber tubes are much easier to bend, allowing for easier tube routing and installation. Whether you are building a Home Theater PC or LAN Party Gaming PC, you'll find the new tubes will make installation a breeze.
