Corsair and Asetek Partner to Advance the State of the Art in CPU Cooling

The Newly Released Corsair Hydro Series H70 Uses Asetek Technology to Set New Standards in High-Performance, Quiet CPU Cooling.

Asetek®, the industry leading supplier of OEM liquid cooling systems for computers, and Corsair®, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market have again partnered to bring the most advanced liquid cooling technology to PC hardware and gaming enthusiasts worldwide. The just released Corsair Hydro Series™ H70 High Performance CPU Cooler is the result of this collaboration.  The Hydro Series H70 CPU cooler features a double-thick (50mm) heat exchanger and Asetek’s new low profile, patent pending integrated pump, cold plate and reservoir. The performance of the double-thick radiator is maximized with push-pull airflow provided by the two included 120mm, speed-controllable, cooling fans.

The Hydro Series H70 is the result of extending the partnership that began with the development of the Corsair Hydro Series™ H50 High-Performance CPU Cooler.

“With the extremely positive reception of the Hydro Series H50, we knew we had raised the bar for CPU cooling,” stated John Beekley, VP of Technical Marketing at Corsair. “We challenged Asetek to help us set the bar even higher, and the H70 represents the very successful result of their development efforts.”

“Simply getting higher performance would have been easy. Asetek was already delivering an OEM version with a 240x120mm heat exchanger,” noted Steve Branton, Director of Marketing at Asetek. “However, Corsair had bigger ideas. They wanted 240x120mm level performance in a product that, like the Hydro Series H50, is compatible with a wide array of popular chassis.”

The double-thick 120x120mm heat exchanger that is used on the H70 today is a direct result of this requirement. The development of the double thick heat exchanger also provides a noise benefit. The Hydro Series H70 uses two fans in a push-pull arrangement. Normally adding a second fan to a system adds 3 dB(A) of noise to the system. However, extensive testing in Asetek’s sound lab proves that with the fans arranged in series (push-pull) the air flow gain from two fans can be realized with only a 1 dB(A) increase in noise. A one dB(A) change in noise is regarded as barely perceptible to the human ear.

“The Corsair Hydro Series H70 is truly an outstanding choice for high performance CPU cooling. A worthy big brother to the groundbreaking Hydro Series H50, the H70 provides even higher thermal performance, while maintaining the light weight, compact size, and ease of installation that make the H50 so popular,” says Corsair’s Beekley.
