Data Center Consolidation & Energy Savings

Located in Huntsville, Alabama, the U.S. Army’s Sparkman Center Data Center at Redstone Arsenal is in the midst of its 3 stage roll out of Asetek’s RackCDU liquid cooling technology.  (For an in depth introduction to the project, you can check out our blog post from May 2014.)

We are excited to share with you an update on the project and some of the results we have seen so far from Stage 1.  As you can see in the graphic below, the data center has seen 60% cooling energy savings, 10% server energy savings, and 2.5x server consolidation by using Asetek’s RackCDU. These results are exciting because they address the key concerns of the data center to consolidate their data center and reduce energy consumption. Stage 2 is currently in progress and we’ll be sure to give an update on results as we progress on this project.
